Virginia Pfaffly's Obituary
Virginia B. Pfaffly, 88, of Clinton, died Sunday, December 13, 2009, at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, Davenport, Iowa. Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Friday, Decebmer 18, 2009 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Brent Riessen, Derek Riessen, Matthew Pfaffly, and Anthony Onuigbo. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00am to the service time at the funeral home.
Virginia Bennett was born on December 29, 1920 in Jacksonville, Florida the daughter of Alex and Delia (Jarrell) Bennett. She married Arnold Pfaffly on June 30, 1944 in McColl, South Carolina; he died January 11, 2005.
Virginia was a graduate of Edmondson School of Business in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Virginia was a dental assistant for Dr. Graham Boardway 18 years; retiring in 1982.
Virginia was a member of Clinton Church of Christ, member of Women of the Moose, Fulton Country Club Ladies Association, and NARFE.
Virginia is survived by her daughter: Sandra (Roland) Riessen of Davenport, Iowa, a son: Philip (Diane) Pfaffly of Woodbury, Minnesota; five grandchildren Brent (Stephanie) Riessen of Johnston, Iowa;Jennifer(Anthony) Onuigbo,of Cedar Falls, Iowa and Derek (Katie) Riessen,of Clinton, Iowa: Matthew Pfaffly of Phoenix, Az and Anna Pfaffly of Minneapolis, Mn. and 9 great-grandchildren: Morgan, Grant and Nathan Riessen, Chioma, Chinelo and Nnamdi Onuigbo, and Josh, Caleb, and Emma Riessen.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, and two sisters. The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Andrew Edwards and his staff and her caregiver: Evie Plambeck from "Home Instead.”
