Vickie L. Bates' Obituary
Vickie L. Bates, 68, of Clinton passed away Sunday, February 3, 2019 at her home – Clinton.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 am, Saturday, February 9, 2019 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Bates, Jesse Bates, Johnny Norem, Jim Schmidt, Dude Norem, Steve Allsup, and Richard Bates. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Friday evening at the funeral home.
Vickie Lynn Norem was born April 19, 1950, the daughter of Durward and Delores (Heath) Norem. She married Richard Bates on May 24, 1968; he preceded her in death on March 26, 1988.
Vickie was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing pool and participated on the CPBA Pool League for many years. She liked singing karaoke and riding her bike, mostly she enjoyed time spent with her family and friends especially her grandchildren. She was a member of the Christian Community Fellowship Church – Clinton.
Vickie is survived by her longtime companion: Steve Allsup of Clinton; four children: Richard (Colette) Bates of Maquoketa, Larry (Christina) Bates of Moline, Illinois, Jesse (Regina) Bates of Clinton and Brenda (Andres Perez) Bates of Dubuque, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; two great grandchildren; five brothers: Danny (Jean) Norem of Clinton, Gary Norem of Clinton, Dude (Kim) Norem of Clinton, Larry (Rita) Norem of Fulton, and Tony (Candice) Norem of Michigan; one sister: Mary Norem of Kewanee, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two grandchildren: Pablo and Olivia; and one sister Chris.
Memorial may be made to the family.
