Vernon L. Pals, 84, of Clinton passed away Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Eagle Point Nursing Home - Clinton. Funeral Services will be 11:00 am, Monday, February 12, 2024 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Cremator Read Obituary
Mr. Pals was one of the best teachers I ever had, and when we pooled our resources with the Senior Math Club (Mr. Hlubek) from a dance and made a trip to Chicago just to see Hair (!) we once again had the time of our young lives. (Which we had nearly every day Physics in class). God bless his memory. His like will rarely be seen again.

I am a cousin of Vernon's and we spent many days of our childhood doing foolish tings at our farms. Often we would ride any calf that was available in a pen or in the barn. Also spent a lot of time on his pony called "Pal" who took us over the fence and into the garden on one occasion. Also made parachutes to jump off of buildings (which never worked). As well as doing marvelous things with cheery bomb firecrackers. I was fortunate to be able to see him last Fall on a trip to Iowa and visit some. Thanks Vernon we had a great childhood together. Rest in Peace.

Geneene & family. Please accept my deepest condolences on your & my huge loss! I loved teaching with Vern , if I was ever in need of a good laugh , I knew I could always depend on him to deliver one for me. Although I was not able to see him very often after my retirement, I always cherished the few times I was able to see , talk & have a beer with him! I will always remember our good times.
I am sorry to hear about Vern passing away. He was the chemistry teacher in Camanche and I was the Chemistry teacher at CCC. I was surprised to see that Vern was born in Belmond. I was born in Belmond also. I think his parents were newspaper customers of mine as well. Best wishes to Vern's family.
