Vera Ware-Sullivan's Obituary
Vera B. Ware-Sullivan, 94, of Clinton, died Sunday, February 5, 2012, at the Alverno Health Care Facility. Mass of the Christian Burial will be 11:00am, Thursday, February 9, 2012 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Vera Bernice Crider was born on September 15, 1917 in Fulton, Illinois, the daughter of Charles and Harriet (Galusha) Crider. She married Robert T. Ware on June 19, 1937 in Fulton, Illinois, he died March 7, 1958. She later married James Ware he later died in December 1969 and later married John Sullivan on January 13, 1978 in Camanche; he died September 25, 1997. Vera worked at the Eagles Country Market on 7th Avenue for over 18 years; she retired in 1978. Vera was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fulton, was a past member of the Women of the Moose Auxiliary, past member of NARFE, former member of the Church of the Visitation in Camanche, Altar and Rosary, and bowled for many years. Vera is survived by two daughters: Connie (Norman) Shepherd of Clinton; Brenda (Gerald) Woods of Fulton; one son: James (Anita) Ware of Keizer, Oregon; 18 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; one brother: Robert (Jean) Crider of Clinton; and several nieces and nephews. Vera was preceded in death her parents, three husbands, one grandson, two great-grandchildren; and four brothers: Lewellyn, Ray, Alfred, and Charles, Jr. Memorials can be made to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.
