Toni was born at Mercy Hospital in Dubuque, Iowa on November 29, 1987. She was the 7th child for her Father Dean O'Meara and the first for her Mother Viola (Puccio) O'Meara. Toni grew up in the Dubuque area with her little brother Bo and her many nephews. As a young child Toni loved being the center of attention. She was a ham for the camera, and would talk to anyone and everyone. You could not stop her. Trust us, we tried. Toni's love of karaoke goes way back to listening to jam sessions in her Uncle Joe’s kitchen as well as listening to her older sister’s music as she was growing up.
As an adult, Tonisha's vibrant presence was often the heart of any gathering. Whether it was a lively karaoke night at the bowling alley, where her voice resonated with such energy that she turned an ordinary evening into an unforgettable celebration, or a holiday dance where she encouraged everyone to join her on the dance floor, her magnetic personality always shone through. With her characteristic playful sass and a kind-hearted spirit, Tonisha effortlessly brought people together, leaving them with cherished memories of joy, laughter, and connection. Her "Ms. T hugs" were more than an embrace—they were a warm reminder of her genuine love and care for everyone around her.
Tonisha's final act of kindness was to give the gift of life through organ, tissue, and cornea donation. Her generosity also extended to medical research at the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics.
Toni is survived by her siblings: Lynn (Sam) Smallwood of Grenada, Mississippi; James (Cheryl) Schroeder of Horton, Kansas; Bridgetta (Jeda) Hoffman of Monmouth, Iowa; Katrina (Trina) O'Meara of Maquoketa, Iowa; Heather (Adam) Bauer of Peosta, Iowa; Bo' Dean (Bo) O'Meara of Dubuque; Sister-in-Law Melissa (Mel) O'Meara of Lone Tree, Iowa;15; Nephews 2 Nieces, and A LOT of Great Nieces and Nephews that have inherited that little devilish smile from their Great Aunt Toni.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents: John and Bernice O’Meara and Anthony and Loretta Puccio; her parents: Dean and Viola O’Meara; her brother: Francis J. O'Meara; Brothers-in-Law: John Dale Adams and Timothy J, Hoffman Sr.; Great Nieces: Lyliana Schroeder and Natalie Jim.
Our family would love to thank all those who have taken care of our little sister Toni over her lifetime. We appreciate all you have done for her and her friends.
