Tim A. Kruse's Obituary
Tim Allen Kruse, 57, of Clinton, passed away July 6, 2024, peacefully at home holding his sister Andrea’s hand after a brave twenty-month battle with cancer.
Tim was born on May 4, 1967, at Jane Lamb hospital in Clinton, Iowa to Lanny Kruse and Marlyss Fullick. He was raised in Clinton and graduated from Clinton High School. He called Clinton home. Tim served as a combat medic in the United States Army, F Company 704th Support Battalion, from 1984-1988. He was a skilled craftsman and a proud member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters.
Tim enjoyed to “tinker,” birdwatch on the porch, tend to his garden, host Sunday dinners, learn about history and meteorology, cheer on the Iowa Hawkeyes, listen to the Clinton police scanner, and of course, a nice-fitting pair of long johns.
Tim is survived by his children, Lanie Kruse (Angela) of Phoenix, AZ; Naomi Kruse (Damon) of Coralville, IA; Adam Kruse of Clinton, IA; and Maya Kruse of Rochester, MN; father and step-mother Lanny and Barb Kruse, Clinton, IA; mother Marlyss Fisher, Clinton, IA; bonus mother, Jane Wynkoop, Clinton, IA; sister Andrea Thieman (Tod), Raymond, NE; step-brother Brian Liphardt, DeWitt, IA; step-sister Rhonda Honolka (Jack) Cedar Rapids, IA; his best friend and cousin, Keith Kruse, Clinton IA; granddaughter, Ivy Irene, Coralville, IA; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his dear grandparents, Arthur “Cisco” and June Kruse; step-father Ron Fisher; and uncle Terry Kruse.
Tim’s family would like to thank Don and Cathy Merrit for their selflessness that made this journey possible, along with the medical care and advocacy provided by Mercy One Hospice. The world keeps turning because of people like you.
As he wished, Tim was cremated at Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and will be buried near his family at a private service with military honors at Oakland Cemetery, Clinton, IA. Memorials for the family may be left at Snell-Zornig.com.
As Tim often said, “That’ll do.”
