Theresa L. Hackney

Theresa L. Hackney, 64 of Camanche, Iowa, departed this world peacefully on Friday, January 3, 2025 at Genesis East, Davenport, Iowa. Visitation will be held Friday, January 10th at the Snell-Zornig Funeral Home in Camanche from 4-7 PM. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 11th at 10:30 AM at the Camanche Snell-Zornig Funeral Home with a luncheon to follow. Cremation will follow the services with a burial on Monday, January 13th, next to her son, Jeramy Tucker in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Camanche, Iowa. Theresa “T” Lynne Hackney was born to Timothy and Beverly (Senger) Sachsenmaier Sr. on November 22, 1960 in Clinton, Iowa. She was a 1979 graduate of Camanche High School. Theresa was married to Ronald Keith Tucker on March 30, 1979 for 10 years. Theresa later was united in marriage to Jeffrey “Hack” Hackney on October 20, 1990 in Clinton, Iowa. Theresa retired from Camanche Community School District as Head Cook at the Middle School. She poured her heart into her work, nourishing the children with delicious meals and warm smiles. She had a true passion for cooking, so after retiring, she decided to return to the kitchen as a substitute. Theresa was known for her work ethic and her ability to bring people together. She loved her grandchildren very much. In her free time, her greatest endearment was attending her grandchildren’s school and sporting events. She also cherished being surrounded by her family, friends and her dog Tucker “Tuck” with whom she created countless memories and shared many stories. Her weekends were often spent cruising the waters of the Mississippi River with her husband, listening to music, and camping. Theresa loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family and enjoyed cooking for the Camanche Fire Department. She also liked to bowl. She was an avid sports fan, enjoying the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, and Indiana Fever. Theresa is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Dean Hackney of Camanche, IA; her two daughters - Aubrey Schultz of Clinton, IA; Courtney (Tom) Hobbs of Raleigh, NC; two sons - Keylon (Shea) Hackney of San Diego, CA and Drew (Samantha) Hackney of Princeton, IA; with sixteen grandchildren and one great grandson; her Loving Dog Tucker; two brothers - Timothy (Jackie) Sachsenmaier of Camanche, IA; Roger (Tami) Sachsenmaier of Clinton, IA - two sisters - Kathy Lund of Portland, OR and Michele (Vic) Gorsh of Long Grove, IA; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister - Susan Ann and her son - Jeramy Tucker. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Camanche Fire Department.
