Theo Smith's Obituary
Theodora A. Smith, 92 of Clinton passed away Sunday, May 15, 2022 at Grand Meadows – Asbury, IA, with her family by her side.
Services to celebrate the life of Theodora A. Smith will be 11:00am, Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Zion Lutheran Church in Clinton. Visitation will be 10:00am to service time at the church on Thursday. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren. The Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family.
Theodora Adler was born on January 25, 1930 in Clinton, the daughter of Edward and Antionetta (Schluns) Adler. She was a 1948 graduate of Clinton High School. On June 4, 1950 she married her high school sweetheart Darrell Smith and they had three daughters. He would later pass away on July 7, 2015.
Theo was employed at the Elmwood Dairy and then as a receptionist for Dr. Miller, Dr. Dixon, and Dr. Dosland retiring in 1986. She was proud for being one of the founders of the Felix Adler Children’s Discovery Center where she volunteered many years. She was also a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing golf, carding a hole-in-one, also bowling, and bridge.
Theo is survived by three daughters: Pam (Ralph) Zebell of Monona, Wisconsin, Marcia (Dave) Hartman of Gold Canyon, Arizona, and Pat Collins of Dubuque, Iowa, seven grandchildren: Jason (Cyndi) Wilkins, Justin (Brooke) Wilkins, Tricia (Steve) DeLaCruz, Chad (Jessica) Zebell, Ryan (Sara) Zebell, Dr. Marissa (Ryan) Michel, and Aaron (Kylie) Collins; twelve great-grandchildren, and her brother-in-law: Dr. Charles (Rae) Smith of Spring, Texas. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two brothers: Robert & Edward; and three sisters: Ruth, Audrey, and Marge.
Memorials can be made to the Children’s Discovery Center or Zion Lutheran Church.
