Thelma C. Goldensoph's Obituary
Thelma C. Goldensoph, 89, of Clinton, passed away, Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at the Alverno.
Funeral Services will be 10:30am, Saturday, June 13 ,2020 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Ronnie Goldensoph, Dave Goldensoph, Rich Hill, Wayne Goldensoph, Wade Thompson, and Nathan Muhs. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00-8:00pm at the funeral home.
Thelma Clara Ehlers was born on November 19, 1930 in DeWitt, Iowa, the daughter of Ernest and Emily (Boehme) Ehlers. She graduated from DeWitt High School. She married Leonard Scheper on September 23, 1950; he was killed in action during the Korean Conflict on June 26, 1952. She later married Lawrence Goldensoph on July 22, 1961; he died May 2, 2002.
Thelma was a homemaker. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt. She enjoyed playing bingo, puzzles, word searches, gardening, cross-stiching, and crocheting.
Thelma is survived by her children: Cindy Mitchell, Leon Goldensoph, Paula Carter, Polly (James) Layne, James (Deb) Goldensoph all of Clinton, and Thomas (Ileen) Goldensoph of Low Moor; 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; and her sister: Marion Nichols of Moline. She was preceded in death by both of her husbands, two brothers, and one sister.
Memorials can be made to Grace Lutheran Church, Walnut Grove, or Special Olympics.
