Terry Teramae's Obituary
Terry J. Teramae, 81, of rural Camanche, died Friday, October 7, 2011 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics – Iowa City, Iowa. Funeral Services will be Noon on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00-7:00pm at the funeral home. Terry J. Teramae was born on March 12, 1930 in Maquoketa, Iowa the son of Ito and Mildred (Welch) Teramae. He married JoAnn Mattke on October 25, 1955 in St. Louis, Missouri; she died on May 8, 2001. Terry was employed at Alcoa for 30 years working in various departments. He retired in 1992. Terry enjoyed playing bingo and cards, fishing, camping, boating, singing and playing his guitar. Terry is survived by two sons: Gary (Terri) Teramae of Orlando, Florida, Michael (Melissa) Teramae of Gulf Port, Florida; two daughters: Sandy (fiancé Robert Stone) Knutsen of Camanche, Iowa, and Tina Foley of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; four grandchildren: Ian and Ryan Knutsen and Joshua and Zachary Teramae; one great-grandson on the way; and a very special friend, Jeanne Grimm of DeWitt. Terry was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, and one son-in-law: Mike Foley. Memorials can be made to the family.
