Tamara "Tam" Meyer's Obituary
Tamara “Tam” Meyer, 73, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018 at her home. Services will be held at 1PM Monday, November 26, 2018 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held Monday from 11AM until the service hour. Tam was born October 25, 1945 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Robert Bixby and Eleanor Maxine (McCormick) Smith. She was a graduate of Des Moines Roosevelt High School; was a graduate of Grandview Junior College, she attended the University of Iowa and graduated from the University of Omaha with her degree in sociology. Tam married Harvey Meyer June 23, 1973 in Des Moines.
Tam had been employed as the Admissions Officer at Girls Town in Omaha, NE; was a social worker in Clinton Iowa, worked at Angel Guardian Senior Center in Chicago and most recently had been employed as Director of Clinton County RSVP, retiring in 2016.
She was active with girl scouts and was President of the Iowa Association of RSVP Directors.
Survivors include her husband, Harvey “Skip” of Clinton; Son, Christopher Michael (Mackenzie) Meyer of Chicago; grandson, Alexander Benjamin Meyer; sister Eleanor Lorraine (Clair) Ossian of Dallas, Texas and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Daryl Eugene Smith.
