Susan A. Johnson's Obituary
Susan A. Johnson, 62, of Camanche, passed away, Sunday, November 17, 2024 at Genesis- DeWitt.
Funeral Services will be 10:30am, Friday, November 22, 2024 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery – Camanche. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00-7:00pm at the funeral home.
Susan Ann Chrest was born on April 27, 1962 in Savanna, Illinois, the daughter of Wesley and Elizabeth “Betty” (Horan) Chrest. She was a 1980 graduate of East Central High School. She married Steven Johnson on July 1, 1989 in Camanche.
Susan was a homemaker most of her life but worked parttime at Necker’s, the Camanche Schools and Berry Barring. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Susan is survived by her husband: Steven of Camanche; her children: Candice (Andy) Cobb of Anderson, South Carolina, Katie (Michael) Fitzgerald of Columbia, South Carolina, Casey (Todd) Hosette of Camanche, and Brett (Jordan Voss) Johnson of Camanche; three grandchildren (with one on the way): Vivien Hosette, JP Fitzgerald and Susie Fitzgerald; her mother: Betty Kirst of Fulton, Illinois; her siblings: Janice (Wally Hansen) Van Meter of Cape Coral, Florida, Dean (Connie) Chrest of Preston, Dennis (Deb) Chrest of Miles, Daryl (Jeannie) Chrest of Clinton, Larry (Sandy) Chrest of Sabula, Wesley (Gwen) Chrest of Clinton; mother-in-law: Valda Johnson of Miles; and brother-in-law: Steve Holman of Belpre, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, two sisters: Diane and Joyce and three brother-in-laws: William Van Meter, John Shryock, and Greg Johnson.
