Sue A. Marsh's Obituary
Sue Marsh, 87, of Camanche, passed away, Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House – Bettendorf, Iowa.
Graveside Services will be Noon, Thursday, June 8, 2023 at the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00am to 11:45am at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory.
Sue Ann Widner was born on February 21, 1936 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Maxon Vaughn and Dorothy Myrtle (Clark) Widner. She was a 1955 graduate of Clinton High School. She first attended school in Birmingham, Alabama and then to New Martinsville, West Virginia. After moving back to Clinton, Iowa, she went to Longfellow School where she was sent back home to learn the Yankee language. After summer vacation they let her come back.
Sue was a zoning officer for the village of Albany, Illinois, from 1987 to 1990. She was a member of the National Association of Relators from 1984 to 1991 and was with JQ Jefferies. She was a member of Keo-Mah Genealogy in Oskaloosa, Iowa and Clinton County/Gateway Genealogy Society of Clinton, Iowa and was a member of the Keokuk County Pioneer Ancestors.
Sue enjoyed crocheting, working the cryptoquote, fishing, and genealogy.
Sue married Lowell Marsh on May 26, 1973 at Zion Lutheran Church in Clinton; he recently passed away on April 6, 2023.
Sue is survived by two daughters: Linda (Harold) Teagarden of Missouri, Laura (Roger) Sikkema of Fulton; two step-sons: Jeff Marsh of Camanche and Allen Marsh of Davenport; 8 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and four great great-grandchildren; one brother: Maxon Vaugh Widner, Jr of Texas, and two sisters: Karen Lynn Allen of Clinton and Patricia Housenga – Fulton.
In addition to her husband, Sue was preceded in death by her parents, a brother: Gary Widner; sons: Steven Alan Steen, Ronald Marsh, a daughter: Judith Diane Ward; and granddaughter: Erika Marsh.
