Steven W. Heiken's Obituary
Steven Wendell Heiken, 66, of Camanche, Iowa, died Friday, August 5, 2022 surrounded by his family at Mercy One, Clinton. A celebration of life will be held at the Mississippi River Eco Tourism Center in Camanche from 11 AM to 2 PM on Sunday, August 14, 2022. Steven was born June 9, 1956 in Maquoketa, Iowa, the son of Wendell and Gertrude (Shelly) Heiken.
He married Laura Shanahan September 7, 1985 in LaMotte, Iowa. Steven retired from Phoenix Closures in Davenport after 19 years of employment. He also worked at International Paper in Clinton for many years.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his dogs, and watching the Green Bay Packers. He loved spending time with his family, especially his two beautiful granddaughters.
Survivors include his wife, Laura of Camanche, Iowa; daughters, Stephanie Heiken of Alexandria, Virginia, Andrea (Brandon) Ryan of North Liberty, Iowa, and their daughters Kennedy and Kaiya Ryan; brother, Larry (Kathy) Heiken of Clinton, Iowa and sister, Brenda Heiken of Rock Island, Illinois. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Carol Capesius of Bellevue, Iowa; sisters-in-law Beverly (Jerome) Gaul of Epworth, Iowa, and Linda Shanahan of Maquoketa, Iowa; and brothers-in-law Glen Shanahan of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Kevin (Karen) Capesius of Dubuque, Iowa; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and fathers-in-law.
