Sherri Lee Chrest's Obituary
Sherri Lee Chrest, 63, of Fulton, Illinois, formerly of Sabula, Iowa, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center – Clinton.
Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry “Toad” Woodhurst, Todd Tietjens, David Brosius, Wesley Roe, Kent Nicolaysen, and Dick Merrick. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery – Sabula. Visitation will be from 9:00am to the service time a the funeral home.
Sherri Lee Chrest was born on November 20, 1953 in Maquoketa, Iowa, the daughter of Marjorie (Busch) Muller and William Marbruger and step father Wesley Muller, Sr. and step mother Barb Marbruger.
She graduated from Maquoketa High School by going to night school there. She worked at the Sabula Factory for 13 years until it closed. She worked at Big Meadows Nursing Home in Savanna, Illinois for 9 years as a housekeeper. She loved her job there. She loved the people she worked with and the people who lived there.
Sherri married Robert Chrest Jr. on April 21, 1986 in Jackson County. They were together for 29 years. They were married for 16 years. Robert passed away on February 15, 2000.
Sherri loved to spending time with her family and friends. She loved spending as much time with her son Tim and Teresa and her grandchildren Justin and Ashley. She loved playing bingo and euchre. She loved going horseback riding when she was younger. She was a very loving and caring sister.
Sherri is survived by one son: Timothy Manning (Teresa Wittbecker) of Fulton, Illinois, one grandson: Justin Manning of Fulton, Illinois, and one step-granddaughter: Ashley (Matt) Anderson of St. Louis, Missouri; five sisters: Faye (Michael) Roe of Bellevue, Iowa, Vickie Marbruger of Wheatland, Missouri, Kathie Marbruger of Bolivar, Missouri, Steffenie Quinlan of Bolivar, Missuori, and Debbie Gerlock of Inman, Kansas; two brothers: Michael (Jeanette) Muller of Maquoketa, Iowa, and Mick Barstow of Marino Valley, California, and many nieces and nephews.
Sherri is proceeded in death by her husband: Robert Chrest, Jr.; all of her parents: Marjorie and Wesley Muller, Sr. and William and Barb Marbruger, three brothers: Brian Keith Muller, Wesley Muller, Jr., and Steven Marbruger, one sister: Bonnie Sue Muller, one brother-in-law: Jack Daniels, four nephews: Jody Merrick, Fabian Daniels, Todd Daniels, and Wesley Muller, III, one niece: Hedie Muller, one great niece Katie Thrantam, and one great nephew Joseph Merrick.
