Sharon Sharp's Obituary
Sharon Sharp, 79, of Camanche, passed away at her home on Thursday, October 2, 2025, following a courageous battle with cancer.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 10, 2025, at the Camanche Chapel of Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory, with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the service. A private family burial will follow at Clinton Lawn Cemetery.
Born March 4, 1946, in Clinton, Iowa, Sharon Diane was the daughter of Alden and Doris (Levine) Lorenzen. She graduated from Camanche High School in 1964 and married Dale Sharp on July 14 of that year while he was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska. They shared 58 years of marriage before his passing in 2022.
Sherry dedicated many years to the Department of Human Services in Clinton, retiring in 2004. She found joy in tending her flower gardens, crafting, reading, birdwatching, and caring for her home. She and Dale loved trips to Wisconsin and Missouri for apple picking and flea markets, and treasured friendships from their years in Alaska and Maine. Her book club and breakfast friends held a special place in her heart, as did her family—especially her grandsons, who were her greatest joy.
She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Jacobs and Susan Sharp, both of Camanche; grandsons Nate (Megan) Jacobs of North Liberty, Nic and Noah Jacobs, both of Camanche; siblings Craig (Jacqueline) Lorenzen and Cindy Williams, both of Camanche; sister in law Janet Peterson and brother in law Doug Sharp, both of Camanche, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Dale.
Memorials may be made to the Clinton Humane Society or the Salvation Army of Clinton County.
