Sharlene Ada Heimbaugh, 79, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at the University of Iowa. Memorial services for Sharlene will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, August 3, 2024 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held from 9:00AM until the service hour Saturday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at a later date at Oakland Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at snellzornig.com.
Sharlene Zenk was born August 26, 1944 in Thomson, Illinois, the daughter of Harold and Ada (Mason) Zenk. She married James Heimbaugh May 2, 1964 in Savanna, Illinois.
Sharlene was a homemaker. Sharlene and Jim enjoyed wintering in Texas where she enjoyed line dancing, riding bikes and walking with her friends. She was also a collector of rocks and dolls.
She is survived by her husband of over 60 years, James of Clinton, IA; sons: Brian (Janet) Heimbaugh of Sparta MI; Jeffrey (Lisa) Heimbaugh of Clinton, IA and Steve (Laurelle) Heimbaugh of Winnebago, IL; eight grandchildren; Nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Iona (James) Tack of Savanna, IL and Marlys Dreier of Mt. Carroll, IL and brother Dale Zenk of Thomson, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: DeLaus Zenk, Leroy Zenk, Joan Westmark and Irene Gennaro.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made the University of Iowa Holden Cancer Center for cancer research.
