Sandra Sparlin's Obituary
Sandra “Sandy” LaFoy Sparlin, 73, of Wheatland, Iowa passed away quietly in her home on July 30, 2025. Honoring her wishes, cremation rites were accorded with the visitation to be at Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes in Clinton, Iowa, on August 8, 2025 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm. Sandy was born to Leslie “Bud” and Mary Lou Chandler on September 13th, 1951 in Clinton, Iowa. She grew up with her little sister Pam and loved to go fishing on the Lucky 13 barge on the Mississippi. She’d pick on Pam but was a fierce defender if anyone else picked on little sis.
She graduated from Clinton High School in 1969. Shortly after that she married Greg K. Hardy, on June 14th, 1969, she gave birth to their son Brian Kenneth Hardy on October 14th, 1969. She retired from Oscar-Mayer after 25 years and then married Carl J. Sparlin on May 15th, 2010.
Sandy is survived by her husband Carl of Wheatland, Iowa and son Brian (Ashley) Hardy of Clinton, Iowa. Two grandchildren Blake (Sam) Hardy and Brianna (Sean Crimmins) Hardy. Three great grandchildren, Keira and Amelia daughters of Blake. Kaiser son of Brianna and little sister on the way due in September. All of Clinton. Her sister Pam (Ric) Pike of DeWitt, Iowa. She had stepchildren and step grandchildren in her marriage with Carl. Step children Jessica Sparlin of Clinton and Ryan (Jennifer) Sparlin of Preston, Iowa, four grandchildren Jaimee, Devon, Corey and Gabrielle, and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother Chuckie
