Ruth Thompson's Obituary
Ruth Thompson, 98, of Camanche died Thursday, December 23, 2010 at Mercy Living Center South in Clinton. Funeral services will be 11:00am Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00am until the service hour at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Orren Jr., Mike and Jeff Thompson, Paul and Glen Williams, and Tom Holm. Ruth Williams was born on February 17, 1912 in Arcadia, MO, the daughter of George W. and Melvina (West) Williams. She was employed at the Clinton Garment Factory for 17 years and also with the Angelica Uniform Factory in Missouri for 5 years. Etta loved to knit and sew. She enjoyed volunteering for many local organizations. She attended the First Baptist Church in Camanche. She was a member of the Navy Mothers of America, Camanche Senior Citizens Center, the Church of God of Prophecy in Missouri, Camanche Betterment Society, and was a charter member of the Camanche Meal Site. She is survived by one daughter, Etta Mae Thompson of Camanche; one son, Ronnie L. (Diana) Deatherage of Port Orchard, WA; 13 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons, 2 brothers and 5 sisters. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Genesis Hospice.
