Ruth Dorothy Ross' Obituary
WILLIAMSBURG—Ruth Ross, longtime Clinton resident, age 88, died Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Highland Ridge Care Center, Williamsburg, Iowa. Burial will be held at Springdale Cemetery at 9am on Wednesday, January 22, followed by a funeral at 10am at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor John Preus officiating. A luncheon at the Fellowship Hall of the church will follow the service.
Ruth was born August 30, 1925 in Stetsonville, Wisconsin to Ewald R. and Flora (Walther) Klinner. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, Menomonie, in 1947 and married Edgar Ross June 7, 1948 in Medford, Wisconsin.
She taught one year at Monroe High School, Monroe, Wisconsin and was employed several years at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Aberdeen, Maryland.
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy (Gary) Fredricks, Washougal, Washington and Susan Ross-Barta (Robert Barta), Iowa City, a brother, James (Shirley) Klinner, Medford, Wisconsin, brother-in-law Gerhard W. Nelson of Maplewood, Minnesota, sister-in-law Dagmar Klinner of Medford, Wisconsin and numerous nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar on March 1, 2010. She was also preceded in death by two siblings, Robert Klinner and Margaret Anderson, sister-in-law Marian Nelson and brother-in-law Ernie Anderson.
