Ruth Kratz's Obituary
Ruth B. Kratz, 94, of Clinton, died Saturday, December 4, 2010 at Mercy Living Center North. Funeral Services will be 10:30am, Wednesday, December 8, 2010, at the Lyons United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be David Schroeder, Mark Schroeder, Tom Robinson, Cody Schroeder, Larry Maring, and Kevin Andresen. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00-7:00pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Ruth Berniece DePue was born on January 22, 1916, in rural Clinton County, the daughter of Chauncey and Edna (Brown) DePue. She married Robert W. Kratz on August 20, 1938, in Clinton; he died February 6, 1979. Ruth was a homemaker. She was also employed at Kresge’s, Woolworth's, and the Clinton Children’s Center. Ruth was a member of Lyons United Methodist Church, Dorcus Circle, King's Daughters, and Cheerful Charities, where she made doll quilts and blankets for the poor. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, and helping others. Ruth is survived by two daughters: Elaine (Harold) Lindeman of Hazel Green, Wisconsin, and Kathy Schroeder of Camanche; 9 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, her son-in-law, her daughter-in-law, and two sisters. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Lyons Methodist Church or Mercy Living Center North.
