Ruby Irene Carter's Obituary
Ruby Irene Carter, 93, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2025 at the home of her daughter in Clinton, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Monday, February 3, 2025 at Calvary Baptist Church Clinton. Visitation will be held Monday from 9:00AM until the service hour. Burial will take place at 10:00AM Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting snellzornig.com. Ruby was born July 21, 1931 in Hermann, MO, the daughter of Armin A. and Louise Barbara (Heinlein) Koeller. Ruby married Joseph Walker June 23, 1968 in Otterville, Illinois; he died July 18, 1997. She later married Paul Carter March 31, 2001 in Clinton, Iowa; he died June 8, 2021.
Ruby had been employed at General Electric in Morrison, Illinois for 25 years and was a homemaker. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her children: Donna Burkley of Clinton; Dennis (Amber) Schmidt of Hermann, MO; Lana Zimmerman of Clinton; Robert (Ruth) Zimmerman of Delmar, IA; Denise (Mark) Wood of Clinton, IA; Cheryl (Mike) Clark of Norwood, MO; Jeri (Jason) Shaw of Hallsville, MO and David (Lori) Zimmerman of Fulton, IL; 27 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; 16 great great-grandchildren and brothers, Benjamin (Carol) Priess of St. Charles, MO and Clarence (Carol) Priess of Hermann, MO.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; son, William Schmidt; great-grandson, Julian Zimmerman; sisters, Dorothy and Laverne and brothers, Armin, Forrest and Edward.
Memorials may be made to the Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA), or to Calvary Baptist Church, Clinton.
