Rosemary M Powers' Obituary
Rosemary M. Powers, one of God’s angels, of Davenport, formerly of Clinton, passed away on Monday July 20, 2015 after a brief illness.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Friday, July 24, 2015 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the service hour at the funeral home. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren Richard Culver, Annette Culver, Brad Powers, Michael Wade, Mitchell Wade, William Culver, Robin Wade, John Lafferty, Phillip Powers, and Jason Lafferty.
Rosemary Maxine Reyner was born October 6, 1925 the daughter of Harlan and Jennie (Haynor) Reyner. She was a 1943 honor graduate of Maquoketa High School. She married Max Powers December 1, 1943 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; he preceded her in death on September 8, 2002.
She was a homemaker and a very active member of her church and local charities. She petitioned for the right of seniors receiving an award from the National Committee to preserve Social Security and Medicare in 2010.
Rosemary is survived by her children: David Powers of Iowa City, Iowa, Linda (Dale) Hardison of Delmar, Iowa, Susan (Nathan) Beadel of Davenport, Iowa, and Barbara Powers of Davenport; 10 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and 11 great great grandchildren; and one sister Norma Bowe of Minnesota.
In addition to her husband, Rosemary is preceded in death by her parents, 2 daughters: Mary Ellen and Beverly Jean, her brothers Don and Jim and sisters Evelyn and Faith.
