Rosella Mae Schmidt's Obituary
Rosella Mae Schmidt, 86, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away Friday, November 25, 2022 at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City. Memorial services for Rosella will be held 11:00AM Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will receive friends from 9:00AM until the service hour Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Springdale Cemetery, Clinton. Rosella was born April 9, 1936 in rural Clinton Iowa, the daughter of Martin and Elsie (Petersen) Jensen. She was educated in the Clinton Schools. Rosella married William A. Schmidt November 25, 1954 in DeWitt; he died June 16, 2015.
Rosella had been employed with General Electric in Morrison, Illinois for more than 25 years, retiring in 1996. She had also worked at Swift & Company and Collis Company.
Rosella was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Good Sam Camping Club.
Survivors include her children, William “Bill” (Jamie) Schmidt, Jr. of Miles, IA and Roxann K. (Jesse) Cram of Bellevue, IA; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandson.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jeffery; daughters, Bonnie and Julie; three brothers and two sisters.
Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
