Rosella Jenkins' Obituary
Rosella “Pat” Jenkins, 76, of Clinton, died Friday, October 9, 2009 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa. Funeral Services will be 10:00am, Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Bob Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in the Springdale Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be David Jenkins, Kendra Jenkins, Chelsea Jenkins, Derek Jenkins, Tommy Jenkins, David Benson, Brian Lawson, and Ray Kosin. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00-8:00pm at the funeral home. Rosella Jean Parker was born on December 14, 1932 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of Alfred and Ruth (Stauffer) Parker. She married John Jenkins on August 26, 1950 in Clinton. Pat attended Clinton Schools. Pat owned and operated the Neighborhood Tavern in South Clinton for many years. Later she had been employed with Swift and Co., G.E., Nabisco Brands, and a security guard with Pinkerton’s before her retirement. Pat was a member of Community Reformed Church. She loved life of the Mississippi River, fishing and mushroom hunting, keeping up with her children and grandchildren’s sports activities and most of all enjoyed spending time with her family. Pat is survived by a daughter: Debra (Gary) Hayes of Tulsa, Oklahoma; three sons: John (Robbie) Jenkins, Jr., of Clinton, Tom (Kittie) Jenkins of Clinton, and Kevin (Peggy) Jenkins of Camanche, 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, and one brother: Alfred (Maria) Parker, Jr. of Clinton. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, one son: David Jenkins; four sisters, and one brother. Memorials can be made to the Community Reformed Church or the family.
