To The Family of "Red" Stoddard,
On behalf of the members of the USS BENNINGTON P.A.C.T., please accept our deepest condolences on the passing of your loved and our shipmate.
We thank you for Ron's service to God & Country. For those of us who knew "Red", he was truly the nicest person anyone could ever meet. Personally, I had the opportunity to know him, as I too, was in the Supply Department aboard the ship. Simply put, he was a great sailor! I'm sure he'll be missed by all those that he touched in some way.
Please know that on the 17th of August, at our Annual Memorial Wreath Laying Ceremony in Bennington, VT, "Red" shall be recognized and his name will be read from a listing of fellow shipmates who has passed away since our annual reading of names last year and the "actual ships bell" will toll in his memory.
Gone from us physically but remembered always, "Rest your oars shipmate. You've done well my friend and we now have the watch........
With My Deepest Sympathy,
Joseph L. Pires

I am so sorry to hear that red has passed. He was such a kind loving man. My hugs and love go out to all reds family. He will be dearly missed by many. RIP Red. Just a quick memory my mom would always say every year red would send her a birthday card he never forgot and she was right he always did.

So sorry for your family's loss RIP Red. You were an all around great guy! I will always remember the days when Red was our Sabula cop! ☺️ And the shenanigans that a couple if his daughters and I tried to get away with! So much fun back in those days!
