Ronald E. Schmitt's Obituary
Ronald E. Schmitt, 76, of Camanche, Iowa, passed away, Monday, September 8, 2014 at Mercy North, Clinton. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 10:00 AM, at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 10, 2014 from 5 PM to 8 PM at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory.
Ronald was born March 8, 1938 in Rock Island, Illinois, the son of John Herman and Stella (Schulz) Schmitt. He married Ann Rutledge, November 22, 1969 in Clinton, Iowa; she passed away August 8, 2013.
Ronald was a 1956 Calamus High School graduate. He was employed as a truck driver for more than 32 tears, retiring in 1995.
Ronald was a member of the Catholic Church of the Visitation, Camanche.
Survivors include his sons, Thomas (Shirline) Schmitt of Camanche; Joseph (Shanna) Schmitt of Camanche and Steven (Brenda) Schmitt of Summerville, SC; grandchildren, Krissy, Breana, Connor, Zachary, Olivia, Rusty and Katie; Step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, Joseph, Nina, James and Liam, step-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, John and sister, Roxann.
