Ronald “Ron” E. Fisher, 86, of Clinton passed away January 23, 2024 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Ronald Eugene Fisher was born on May 25, 1937 in Davenport, Iowa in the ambulance en route to the hospital. He was the son of Virgil and Katherine (Rathburn) Fisher. He was a graduate of DeWitt Central High School. He married Marlyss Fullick on June 6, 1980 in Clinton, Iowa. He owned and operated R & M Distributing. Ron enjoyed fishing, golfing and bowling. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed taking care of his lawn. He was a member of the Moose Lodge 363 and loved cheering for the Iowa Hawkeyes. Go Hawks!! More than anything he loved spending time with his family and his grandchildren will always remember Papa Ron.
Ron is survived by his wife Marlyss Fisher of Clinton, Iowa, children: Rhonda Cook of Camanche, Laurie Fisher of Schertz, Texas and Brent Fisher of Clinton; step-son: Tim Kruse of Clinton; grandchildren: Helena (Matt) Fisher of DeWitt, Iowa, Nicole (Jason) Dohse of Camanche, Lisa (Adam) Cook of West Des Moines, Iowa and Chelsea Fisher of San Antonio, Texas; step grandchildren: Lanie Kruse of Phoenix, Arizona, Paige (David “DJ”) Williams of Clinton and Cody Plumb of the Quad Cities; great grandchildren: Alice, Madilynn and Trey (DJ); sister: Marilyn Stidham of Rock Island, Illinois; brother-in-law: Howard McFate (Sunshine) of LeClaire, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews including a special nephew and fishing partner Dan (Peggy) Fisher.
He was preceded in death by his parents and several siblings.
