Robin L. Pladna's Obituary
Robin L. Pladna, 52, of Clinton, passed away, Friday, September 13, 2019, at MercyOne – Clinton.
Funeral Services will be 10:30am, Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at St. John Lutheran Church – Clinton. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Tom Current, Scott Davis, Jayson Schneeberger, Andrew Pladna, Aaron Pladna, and Adam Pladna. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Ryan and Kyle Ellis. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00-7:00pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory.
Robin Lynn Ellis was born on May 6, 1967 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of William and Judy (Stout) Ellis. She was a 1985 graduate of Davenport Central High School. She married Joel Wehde in July 1987; they later divorced. She married Richard Pladna on September 10, 1994 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Robin was a dedicated wife, mom, grandma, daughter, sister, and friend. She cherished the time she spent with her family especially her children. She loved being a PTA mom and volunteering in her kids’ classrooms. She became a paraprofessional at Elijah Buell, then joined Lyons Middle School as a para. At Lyons she made long lasting relationships with both students and staff. Robin moved to Clinton Middle School and worked in the library.
In her free time Robin loved cooking and baking. She was known for her delicious cookies and cupcakes. She was an avid crafter and could do just about anything and created masterpieces. Robin loved spending time with her husband at their cabin in Wisconsin. She spent many weekends at her grandchildren’s sporting events. Robin will forever be remembered as a loving, caring, witty, and courageous person.
Robin is survived by her husband: Richard of Clinton; her children: Joshua (Breanna) Wehde of Bettendorf and Jenna Pladna of Davenport, her step-daughter: Jessica (Jayson) Schneeberger of Camanche; three grandchildren: Olivia, Lilly, and Maddux; her parents: William “Bud” and Judy Ellis of Davenport; her brother: Daniel Ellis of Katy, Texas; her father-in-law: Thomas Pladna of Fulton; sister-in-law: Cindy (Tom) Snyder of Fulton; brother-in-law: Brent (Debbie) Pladna of Clinton; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, an aunt, uncle, mother-in-law: Phyllis Pladna and brother-in-law: Gary Current.
Memorials can be made to St. John Lutheran Church.
