I was very sorry to read in the Quad City Times of Bob's passing. I spent many hours working with him and talking about educational issues in Iowa ASCD and in Clinton School circles. He was always a thinker who put kids first in education, he was always a strong supporter of mine in my work at the Mississippi Bend Area Education Agency.
I'll miss Bob, but I will never forget his smile or his voice.
On behalf of Iowa ASCD, I would like to extend condolences to the family of Bob. He was inspirational to many of us in our earlier years of Iowa ASCD. His impact has a director of curriculum and former President of Iowa ASCD is far reaching. We all appreciated his work and his leadership.

Mike, I was sorry to read of your dad's passing. Having lost my mom a year ago, I know how the loss hurts. I had the pleasure of meeting your dad and mom on different occasions, and they were always very kind. I am also glad to see he had a long life, MIke. Yet, we hope to have our loved ones around for many, many years, yet it can't be. So, Mike, my thoughts are with you and your family. I am hopeful that all the great memories of years past will support you and yours through the days ahead. It is not an easy journey for all, some days are very, very difficult, while on some days we find the strength and solace in the knowledge that they are still part of us and the memories we have are with us forever until we pass. Patty, I am so sorry for your loss. While the last few months have been very difficult and you did not want him to suffer, still it is so sad to say good-bye to our parents and those we love. Please know, as your friend, I will be there for you when you need to talk, sit in silence, or need a shoulder. I always looked forward to seeing your parents, I appreciated thier kindnesses so much. I love you, Ron, Nicci and Maddi. My prayers are with you.

To Mrs. Pittman and family...please accept my condolences. May God comfort and keep you at this time.
While teaching at Lyons Middle School for many years, I had numerous opportunities to work with Dr. Pittman. We might not always agree, but I respected his professionalism and fairness to all. He always took time to listen to concerns and did what he could to fix problems. The last time we chatted, he was ringing bells for the Salvation Army at Christmas, still giving back to the community. May he rest in peace. My condolences to the family.
Joan and the Pittman family - My deepest sympathy for your loss, I worked on a couple of committes with Dr. Pittman. He was always thinking of the benefits for students and greeted you with a smile. He knew everyone's name and the teaching position they held. May you always think fondly of his accomplishments for the wonderful Clinton Education provided in this community.
