Robert Jessen's Obituary
Robert H. Jessen, 83, of Clinton died Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at Mercy Living Center North. Funeral services will be 12:00pm Friday, November 11, 2011 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00am until the service hour at the funeral home. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandchidren Jeremy Wilkens, Brian Horst, John Horst, Scott Weber, Eric Weber and Michelle Brown. Honorary pallbearer will be Christopher Foster. Robert Henry Jessen was born on January 27, 1928 in Clinton, the son of Henry and Irene (Dierks) Jessen. He was a United States Navy veteran serving during WWII. He married Rosina Aedo on July 26, 1970 in Morrison, IL. He was a beer truck driver for many years working for several companies until his retirement in 1987. Robert was a member of the Clinton AMVETS Post #28, Moose Lodge and the former VFW. He enjoyed fishing, being outdoors and taking in the sun. He loved to go to the casino and travel to Florida to visit family. He is survived by his wife Rosina of Clinton; four daughters: Cindy (Mike) Houston of Thomson, IL, Kathleen (Larry) Weber of Sabula, IA, Nancy (Steve) Kelly of Bradenton, FL and Vickie (Rick) Dixon of Portland, OR; one son: Robert “Bo” Henry Doyle of Forest Grove, OR; one step-son: Daniel Schoenig of Bettendorf, IA; 17 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Shirley Jessen, one brother in infancy, grandson Andrew Horst and stepson Michael Boyd.
