Robert E. Dash's Obituary
Robert E. Dash, 85, of Albany, passed away, Saturday, September 21, 2024 at St. Anthony’s Medical Center – Rockford, Illinois surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Friday, September 27, 2024 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the Clinton AMVETS. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00-7:00pm at the funeral home.
Robert Eugene Dash was born on January 24, 1939 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of William and Evelyn (Goodell) Dash. He was a 1957 graduate of Clinton High School. He served in the United States Navy from 1957-1960. He married Janet Dann on March 18, 1962 in Camanche; she passed away on August 28, 2007.
Bob was employed as a construction mechanic at Alcoa for 41 ½ years retiring in 2001. He enjoyed fishing on the Mississippi River and playing golf at the Fulton Country Club. He enjoyed bowling earlier in life and was the past president of the Clinton Bowling Association. Above all he enjoyed his family.
Bob is survived by his children: Rod Dash (Stef), Terry (Eileen) Dash of Clinton, Iowa, Christine Dash of Lago Vista, Texas, and Lori (Steve) Meyers of Lebanon, Tennessee; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Gary (Delores) Dash of Clinton, Iowa, and David (Brenda) Dash of Waipahu, Hawaii. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and a sister.
Memorials can be made to Stead Children’s Hospital at the University of Iowa.
