Robert Cook's Obituary
Robert C. Cook, 95, of Clinton died Monday, November 22, 2010 at Mercy Living Center North. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Friday, November 26, 2010 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be Friday from 11:00am until the service hour at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the Clinton AMVETS Post#28. Robert Conrad Cook was born on April 18, 1915 in Clinton, the son of William and Anna (Stager) Cook. He was a graduate of Lyons High School. He married Teresa M. Rieger on November 16, 1940; she died on September 19, 1988. He later married Belle (Sorensen) Whiting on July 20, 1990; she died on March 27, 2010. He was a United States Army veteran serving during World War II. He was employed with E.I. DuPont in the maintenance department for over 32 years until his retirement. Robert loved being outdoors camping, fishing, woodworking and gardening. He also liked to travel, especially to his house on the lake in Hayward, Wisconsin. He loved his family and enjoyed the quality time he spent with them. He is survived by one son: Richard L. (Kimberly A.) Cook of Clinton; one stepson: Harlan (Cathy) Whiting of Hayward, Wisconsin; many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and one great granddaughter. In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by his parents, one brother: Walt, and one daughter: Peggy.
