Robert "Bob" J. Seiler's Obituary
Robert "Bob" J. Seiler, 81, of Camanche, passed away, Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at West Wing Place – DeWitt.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 3, 2019 at Chancy Lutheran Church – Clinton. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery – Camanche. Pallbearers will be Lane Kaczinski, Nathan Krogman, Kristopher Williams, Kyle Williams, Matthew Seiler, and Sean Seeser. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jessica Palmer, Kelli Totemeier, Jamie Ploog, Corissa Mau, Jenna Siberz, and Kayla Brown. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00-6:00 p.m. at Chancy Lutheran Church. A Rose Croix will conclude the visitation at 6:00 p.m. Additional visitation will be Monday from 9:30 to the service time at the church. Robert John Seiler was born on August 27, 1937 in Green Island, Iowa, the son of Elmer and Marcella (Eckelberg) Seiler. He was a 1955 graduate of Clinton High School. He married Darlene Ragis on May 27, 1956 at Faith Lutheran Church – Andover.
Bob was employed at Hawkeye Chemical for 36 years serving on the original start up crew until the plant closed. He also served as the youth minister at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Camanche.
Bob was a member of Chancy Lutheran Church, Camanche Masonic Lodge #60, Clinton Scottish Rite Bodies, York Rite, was the Grand High Priest of the Royal Arch Masons of Iowa from 2001-2002 and the Grand Chaplain for the Grand Lodge of Iowa from 2004-2005. He also was a chaplain at Mercy Hospital.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 63 years: Darlene of Camanche; his son: Paul (Chris) Seiler of Camanche; three daughters: Jean (Ron) Bormann of Charlotte, Nancy (Jim) Kaczinski of Camanche, and Karen (Mike) Bouvia of Camanche; 11 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 13 step-great-grandchildren; his brother: LeRoy (Roberta) Seiler of Naples, Florida, and two sister-in-laws: Barbara (Phil) Kuhl of Morton, Illinois, and Brenda (Harlan) Seeser of Clinton; He was preceded in death by his parents, and a special aunt: Dorothy Ragis.
