Robert G. “Bob” Hackett, 93, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away Thursday , December 13, 2018 at Bickford, Clinton. Services will be held at 11AM Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Clinton. Visitation will be from 10AM until the service hour at the church. Pallbearers will be members of the Knights of Columbus. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Bob was born March 20, 1925 in Clinton, Iowa the son of Frank P. and Gertrude (Kating) Hackett. He was educated in the Clinton Schools. Bob married Julia Ann Jessen on September 18, 1950 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clinton; she died December 5, 2014.
Bob was a WWII United States Navy Veteran serving in the Pacific Theatre from 1943 to 1946.
He was a certified watchmaker and jeweler, Robert and Julia Ann owned and operated Hackett’s Jewelry in Clinton for many years, retiring in 1986.
He is survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and four sisters.
Memorials may be made to Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
