The Powell family in Camanche is considered a fine supportive family to the community and the school system. During my years of teaching in Camanche I had the privilege of teaching many of the Powell children. Dick Powell was interested in his children's education. His firm hand and sense of humor couldn't be beat. I always enjoyed my interactions with him and his family. During those years the Powell family hosted an AFS foreign exchange student from Finland. His name was Peter Juhl. Peter was lucky to be in the Powell family. They opened their home with love and support. I was privileged to know Dick and his family!

What a man! I was privileged and homered to know this man, who dearly loved his Lord, family, and country. Always with a smile upon his face, it was a joy to share time with Rich!
