Sorry to see that Pete passed. He was so kind to both staff and students. When I came to Clinton in 1981, right out of college, I was assigned to Harding. I could not have asked for a more supporting principal, as I made it through my first year. RIP Pete!

Mr. Shaw was a great 5th grade teacher. I remember one day when he read a paper of mine to the whole class as an example of good writing skills. He probably didn't know it, but it was that day that I decided I could do just about anything I put my mind to.

Sorry to read of your dad's passing. A lot of nice comments from others about his influence in their lives. Can recall he and your mother being with you at the various school events we shared, especially at Buell.

Pete was such a quiet, kind man and was always so kind and encouraging with the students. I remember he once told me how many positive words were needed to cancel out one negative with a child. I really believe he lived by this and tried to instill the positive in each and every child's life. It was a pleasure working for him for many years and has left me with soooo many great memories of him and the students at Harding. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Janet, Scott, Brad and their families at this difficult time.

I remember when our daughter was in Kindergarten and school was let out early because of a blizzard. I left work to pick up Sam and when I pulled up to the school, out came Mr. Shaw - his coat blowing in the wind - holding Sam's hand and helping her get to the car. He was a wonderful principal and it was obvious he cared about the children. I'm sorry to hear of his passing.
Mr.Shaw was the best teacher anyone could ask for. I had him at Irving school in south Clinton. He will be sadly missed. RIP MR. SHAW 🙏🙏
Pete was such a dear kind hearted man! He took the time to support and paid for the resources I needed to teach students who learned differently! Of course we immediately connected w our love for the black and gold- GHAWKS!
The epitome of a great educator. Mr. Shaw was my 2nd, 3rd and 5th grade teacher at Irving School. Taught me a couple of the most important lessons I ever learned about life. A truly great man. RIP Mr. Shaw.
Pete took a chance in 1989 and hired me as a brand new teacher to the district! Pete was such a kind man and respected leader. He lead by example and encouraged me to put my young family first. I appreciated his continuous bantering over the years. I will miss seeing him walk on the dike. Rest In Peace to my dear friend, Mr. Shaw! My deepest condolences to Janet and the boys.
Pete was one of the kindest, most dedicated members of our school system I was honored to work with. Kids loved him and adults admired him. No better legacy than that. Rest in Peace, dear Pete. My sincerest condolences to his family.
