Richard A. Miller's Obituary
Richard A, Miller, 84, of Clinton, Iowa, died Thursday, February 21, 2019, at the Alverno, Clinton. Services will be held at 12:00PM, Noon, Monday, February 25, 2019 at Saint Paul Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held from 10:00AM until the service hour Monday at the church. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Adam Boyd, Tyler Smith, Marc Petersen, Shawn Petersen, Josh Sandholt and Jack Irvine. Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements. Richard was born July 31, 1934 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Jurgen H. and Eva A. (Matthew) Miller. He was a Clinton High School graduate. Richard was a United States Air Force Korean War Veteran. Richard married Donna Goers in Clinton on October 8, 1961; she died August 29, 2010.
Richard was employed at DuPont as an electrician for more than 36 years, retiring in 1996; he had also worked at Fairbanks Morse in Camanche.
He was a member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church, the Eagles Club, the Clinton Moose and the AMVETS.
Survivors include his daughter, Janet (Kevin Nelson) Irish of Clinton, IA; daughter-in-law, Kathy Miller of Clinton, IA; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jackie, Ashley, Adam and Tyler; great-grandchildren, Bailey, Slate, Cash and Rosalie; sister, Evelyn Hubbart of Clinton and brother, Donald (Lois) Miller of Searcy, AR.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, son, Jeffrey, brothers, Jerry and Kenneth and sister, Janet.
