Richard H. Luett's Obituary
Richard H. Luett, 77, of LeClaire, formerly of Clinton, passed away, Sunday October 2, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00am, Friday, October 7, 2022 at Zion Lutheran Church – Clinton. Visitation will be from 9:00am to 1100am Friday at Zion. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandchildren. The Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family.
Richard Harry Luett was born on June 1, 1945 in Clinton, Iowa the son of Gilbert and Arlene (Krabbenhoft) Luett. He was a 1963 graduate of Clinton High School. He served in the United States Army from 1966-1968. He married Judy Ann Gustafson on August 31, 1968 at Zion.
Richard was an electrician his entire life, co- owning May Electric and managing American Electric in Clinton and retiring in 2016. He loved the game of GOLF; mostly playing at Valley Oaks and carding 13 hole-in-ones. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, fishing, and coaching and playing basketball, especially playing “barn ball” at his family farm. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Richard is survived by his wife: Judy of LeClaire; his children: Tammi (Bob) Franks of Goose Lake, Sean (Mary) Luett of Clinton, and Eric (Kara) Luett of LeClaire; 8 grandchildren: Emily (Taylor), Ty, Sydney, Michael, Travis, Makenna, Kamryn, and Madelynn; great-grandaughter: Wrenley; step-grandchildren: Grant & Ellie; his siblings: Larry (Linda) Luett of Fenandina Beach, Florida, Steven (Fran) Luett of Clinton, and Pamela (Randy) Teymer of Bettendorf; his brother-in-law: Rick (Sandi) Gustafson of Clinton; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Zion Lutheran Church. The family would like to express their gratitude to all of the compassionate health care workers from Fieldstone, Home Instead, and Genesis Hospice that made him comfortable the past few months.
