Richard R. Kimble's Obituary
Richard R. Kimble, 89, of Clinton passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House – Bettendorf.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 am, Friday, January 15, 2021 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Jim Vicks, Tim Van Kampen and Dan Blinkinsop. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Richard Ralph Kimble was born November 28, 1931 in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Ralph and Selma (Michelsen) Kimble. He attended Jackson County Schools and then served in the United States Army from 1953-1954. He married Winifred Wilke on February 12, 1956 in Clinton; she preceded him in death on October 26, 2016.
Richard worked as a unit supervisor at ALCOA for 38 years; retiring in 1993. He also worked for North American Moving Company for many years. He enjoyed bowling and golfing but mostly he loved to dance. He was still going to dances and dancing the polka and waltz up until just a few months ago. He was a member of the Lyons Methodist Church and the American Legion.
Richard is survived by his two daughters: Sheryl (Richard) Wolf of Ten Sleep, Wyoming and Linda (Tim) Van Kampen of Clinton; one brother Alyn (Donna) Kimble of Clinton; and half-sister: Julie Bruce of Clinton.
In addition to his wife; he was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one sister, and two half- sisters.
