Richard "Dick" D. Jewell Jr.'s Obituary
Richard “Dick” D. Jewell, Jr., 65, of Clinton passed away, Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center – Clinton.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 pm, Sunday, December 11, 2016 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory with Military Honors being conducted at the funeral home. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the service hour at the funeral home.
Richard Dale Jewell Jr. was born September 11, 1951 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Richard and Vilas (Ostrander) Jewell, Sr. He attended Clinton High School. He entered the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War specializing in Communications. He married Teresa Ledesma McNamara on June 20, 1998.
Dick worked for the Street Department for the City of Clinton for nearly 34 years; retiring in 2006. He enjoyed camping, fishing, watching movies and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Teresa Jewell of Clinton; three children: Matthew Jewell of Clinton, Wendy (Nate) McNeil of Clinton and Aaron Jewell of Bolivar, Missouri; one step-daughter: Crystal (John) Larsen of DeWitt; five siblings; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and one brother.
Memorial may be made to the family.
