Everyone on D-shift is sorry for your loss. Richard always had a big smile on his face. He always knew exactly where to find the paper work that you needed and could find it very quickly. He will be greatly missed by all.

Dick and I played the flute in both Band and Orchestra for the 4 years of High School. Dick was first chair.
Miriam Wiley joined us in a flute trio for part of that time. The three of us would travel to Denver, CO for lessons with a terrific instructor. This was a most delightful time for the three of us.
I never saw Dick get angry or discouraged. He always had a smile on his face and was a great athlete. I will miss the notes we've exchanged via e-mail these past years.
I would like the family to know that they are remembered in my thoughts and prayers.

As we try to adjust to life with out Dick I am struck by memories from childhood into middle age. He was my second father, my hero many times over. He believed in family ,friends, responsibility and dedication to whatever job he was doing at the time.He always gave his best.
He and Ruth provided a home that was a haven for anyone who needed it, and we all did at one time or another. He always steadied the ship for us .I will never forget him and I know how much richer my life and that of our family has been because of dearest Dick. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Since I was a little boy I remember the sight of the farm house we all know and love. Dick was a very special man that "everyone should have met" and his memory will live on through his volunteer work and all the great things he did for our family. We were lucky enough to visit him and Ruth this past Christmas and that is how I will always remember him.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Cook. His son John and I were classmates in elementary school, and I have many fond memories of him from my early years in Orchard Heights. Looking back, I'm really impressed at how involved Mr. Cook was the activities of his children and their friends. Whether he was leading a scout meeting, helping us build and launch model rockets or taking us sledding in the winter, Mr. Cook was always a great mentor and role model for us kids. He was a very special person with a great intellect and warm, easy-going personality. He will be greatly missed.
To Ruth, Christy, David and John,
We were so sorry to hear the news of your loss. Dick was a special kind of guy, in so many ways. He was so kind, caring and had such a POSITIVE attitude about life. We know he was a loving husband and excellent father, as well as being good friends with everyone who knew him. Our hearts go out to you and all your family at this very painful time and we will all miss him..... he was a GOOD GUY!!!
With Sincere Sympathy,
Patricia and Don Sima
