Richard Campbell's Obituary
Richard K. Campbell, 81, of Clinton, died Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at his home in Clinton. Funeral Services will be 10:30am, Monday, December 29, 2008 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the Clinton AMVETS Post #28. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00-5:00pm at the funeral home. Richard Keith Campbell was born on September 23, 1927 in St. James, Minnesota the son of Claude and Effie (Rollings) Campbell. He married Sharon Schunke on December 10, 1961 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Richard was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean Conflict. Richard was a heavy equipment operator for many years. He was also employed with National By-Products for 14 years in maintenance. He recently was an independent contractor for the Clinton Herald delivering newspaper bundles to the carriers. Richard enjoyed craftwork and was an avid fisherman. Richard is survived by his wife: Sharon of Clinton; one daughter: Carrie Kyte of Bettendorf, Iowa; one son: Paul (Staci) Campbell of Blue Grass, Iowa; three grandchildren; two brothers: Clinton (Ingrid) Campbell of Sarasota, Florida, and Gordon Campbell of Clinton; two sisters: Audrey Nelson of Garrison, Minnesota, and Kay Lentz of Rochester, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, one son: Kurt; twin boys in infancy; two sisters, and one brother. Memorials can be made to the family’s wishes.
