Raymond C. DeVoe's Obituary
Raymond C. DeVoe, 85, of Maquoketa, formerly of Clinton passed away, Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Crestridge Care Center – Maquoketa.
Private Services were held. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family.
Raymond Clarence DeVoe was born on September 13, 1929 in Missouri Valley, Iowa, the son of Clarence and Doris (Hatterman) DeVoe. He was a1947 graduate of Lyons High School. He later served in the Iowa National Guard. He married Maxine P. Terrock on April 27, 1957 in Clinton.
Raymond worked in maintenance at DuPont for 30 years retiring in 1991.
Raymond was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, enjoyed flying planes, tinkering in his workshop, and always gave a lending hand to his family and would do anything for them.
Raymond is survived by his wife: Maxine of Maquoketa; two daughters: Nanette (Gerald) Beau of Maquoketa and Jill (Dennis) Garner of Maquoketa and one granddaughter: Jordan Street of Maquoketa.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and his sister.
The family requests that memorials be made to Crestridge Care Center or Hospice of Jackson County. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Bybee, Father Donald Hertges and Hospice of Jackson County for their special care.
