Randy Richter's Obituary
Randy L. Richter, 62, of Clinton, died Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center, North Campus, Clinton. Graveside Services will be 10:00am, Monday, March 12, 2012, at the Oakland Cemetery, Clinton. Military honors will be conducted by the Clinton AMVETS Post #28. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements. Randy Lee Richter was born on April 11, 1949 in Mt. Carroll, Illinois, the son of Don and Mary (Schaut) Richter. He was a 1967 graduate of Mt. Carroll High School where he played football. He attended and played football on a scholarship at the University of Northern Illinois in DeKalb graduating in 1971. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam from 1971-1972. Randy was a conductor with the Chicago Northwestern & Union Pacific Railroad for over 30 years. Randy enjoyed playing on the computer and spending time on EBAY, was a animal lover specially with his cats, and enjoyed gardening. Randy is survived by the woman who loved him dearly: Mitzi Sanders-Richter of Clinton; a step-daughter: Katie (Jeremy) Brown of Clinton; step-granddaughter: Harper Lynn Brown; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; mother-in-law: Aletta Olson of Clinton; two sister-in-laws: Gloria Eskew of Clinton and Charla (John) Sietz of Litchfield Park, Arizona brother-in-law: Mike Pope of Clinton. Randy was preceded in death by his parents and his sister: Rhonda Harwell. The family requests that memorials be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
