Rachel D. Lund's Obituary
Rachel D. Lund, 86, of Clinton passed away peacefully of natural causes on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at the Alverno - Clinton.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Rachel Doris Lund was born on May 4, 1938 in Morrison, Illinois, the daughter of Siegel and Dora (Bos) Heun. She was a Fulton High School graduate. She met her husband Herbert John Lund and together they were married in 1962 and started a family; he passed away suddenly in 1973. She was a homemaker and worked doing various clerical and custodial jobs including being the long-time custodian at her church. She was old school and enjoyed reading the newspaper everyday, spending time with her family and crime dramas on television. She was an active member of the Grace Community Church formerly known as Community Reformed Church in Clinton.
She is survived by her two sons: Ward Lund of Iowa City, Iowa and Edward Lund of Des Moines, Iowa; granddaughter: Mikhayla; step children: Scott Lund and Deb El.
Rachel was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and three siblings: Grace Heun, James Heun and Lydia Blinkensop.
