Peter Wilson's Obituary
Peter C. “Pete” Wilson, 78, of Clinton died Sunday, March 28, 2010 at Mercy Living Center North in Clinton. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Visitation will be Wednesday from noon until the service hour at the funeral home. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chuck Steen, Tony Steen, Jim Krol, Kile Krol, and Micaela Krol. Peter Charles Wilson was born on November 20, 1931 in Clinton, the son of Roy W. and Marie Naomi (Ocker) Wilson. He was a 1949 Clinton High School graduate. He married MaryAnn Hake in 1954 in DeWitt, IA. He was a United States Army veteran, serving during the Korean War. He had been employed as a glazer with Curtis Woodworking for 16 years and as a machinist with Central Steel for 15 years. He later worked alongside his brother at the family business, Roy Wilson and Sons furniture refinish and repair shop in Clinton for 10 years. He was a member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church. He enjoyed gardening, and the many adventures he had with his brother Dave throughout the years. He is survived by his two daughters: Lynn Marie (Charles) Steen of Clinton and Laurie (Jim) Krol of Moline, IL; 4 grandchildren: Matthew Steen, Tony (Erin) Steen, Kile Krol, and Micaela Krol; 3 great grandsons: Jacob, Sage, and Marcus; one brother, David Wilson of Clinton; one sister, Deborah Chase of Tampa, FL; 3 nephews and one great nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to Saint Paul Lutheran Church.
