Payton Hope's Obituary
Joe “Shorty” Hope, 63, of Camanche died Monday, November 21, 2011 in Clinton. Funeral services will be 12:00pm Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00am until the service hour at the funeral home. Cremation rites will follow the visitation. Payton Joseph Hope Jr. was born on August 31, 1948 in Fort Benning, Georgia, the son of Payton Joseph and Rosie Juanita (Griffin) Hope. He was a United States Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He married Sherrill Lea Hope on November 6, 1998 in Clinton; she died on September 18, 2009. He was a member of the Camanche VFW. He loved to fish and shoot pool with the guys at the VFW. He is survived by one daughter: Tina (Terry) Cahoon of Clinton; one son: Daniel (Amanda Broers) Morris of Prophetstown, IL; nine grandchildren: Jessica, Acacia and Sadie Cahoon, Skylar, Audrey, Danielle and Madysen Morris, and Brianna and Bailey Broers; several nieces, nephews, cousins and his three beloved dogs: Boo, Gizmo and Rizzo. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one daughter in infancy. Memorials may be made to the family.
