Paul and I met while going to college in Savannah and waiting tables at the River House. He became a very real part of my life and has remained one of my dearest friends for more than 25 years. I don't know what I did to deserve his friendship, but I am so grateful for every moment we spent, every complex conversation we shared, and every escapade we survived! He was loved by everyone and was such a gift to this world. Losing him is so difficult. My deepest sympathy and condolences go out to his family, and thank you for sharing this wonderful person with us.

I didn't "know" Paul, but I knew him. I saw him around town, but more important I used to see him once a week when my husband and I went on our "date night" that we started after the last child went off to college. Paul was always a big part, so much so that we always went to the same restaurant once a week and always had a fun time talking about everything from food to wine to play to travel. Truly the word "hospitable" described him perfectly, far more than just his work experience. I am sorry for your loss, and that of everyone who won't get a chance to meet him.
