Paul H. Matthew Sr.'s Obituary
Paul H. Matthew, Sr., 79, of Clinton, passed away, Tuesday December 23, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center – North, Clinton.
Funeral Services will be 11:00am Friday, December 26, 2014 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the Clinton AMVETS Post #28. Visitation will be Friday from 9;00am to the service time at the funeral home. Paul H. Matthew was born on June 4, 1935 in Clinton, Iowa the son of Paul H. and Margaret (Johannsen) Matthew. He was a 1953 graduate of Clinton High School. Later enlisting in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict from 1955-1959. He married Marilyn Elaine Hansen on April 14, 1963 in Clinton, Iowa; she died March 27, 2010.
Paul was a senior centrifuge operator at Clinton Corn for 20 years and an operator for American Xyrofin for 6 ½ years. He also was in maintenance for Mercy Medical Center retiring in 1995.
Paul was a former member of New Hope Lutheran Church. He was an Eagle Scout and earned the district award of merit. He loved to hunt and fish.
Paul is survived by one son: Paul (Deb) Matthew, Jr., of Clinton; two daughters: Teresa (Bear Netherland) Matthew of Clinton, and Mary (Samual Farrell) Matthew of Clinton; six grandchildren: DeShia, Quan, and Michael Jay Matthew, and Grace, Gianna, and Gavyn Gladney; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one brother, and one sister.
